高中生写作 One-on-One 批改点评的替代项目

很多家长说孩子写作不好很苦恼，怎么提高？有人问我能不能单独辅导。写作主要靠自己长期练习，指望听些课但自己不动手练，就能提高，那是天方夜谭。但是学生练习写了没人批改点评也没法提高。One-on-one 的辅导非常昂贵，不是任何家长都可以或者愿意负担的；这是个难题。

这个项目是个追求近似效果但高效的 next best solution 的想法，希望帮到高中生们。项目具体如下：

(1）每周 Sunday 5-6 pm Pacific / 8-9 pm Eastern (potentially with up to 30 minutes of extended time, as hard to predict the actual lecture time) 我 host 一个点评高中生文章段落的 workshop, 现场 redline 修改两三位学生的习作段落 (不是整篇文章；除 Creative Writing 之外题材不限)，每人限一页至一页半篇幅 : 12 point Times New Roman font, double space, 1-inch margin on all sides. 总时间一到一个半小时。

(2) 旁听每周 $10（basic fee）。

(3) 因为每次只有时间点评2-3名学生习作，所以如果家长希望自己孩子提交文章，要采用一个 bidding 的程序，每次 $30 起（$10 basic fee + a bidding amount starting at $20 to be paid only if winning），最高的 bidder 的提交内容会在课上用 MS Word 现场 redlining 的方式示范批改并点评。Tie-breaking Rules: (a) higher a student's current grade, higher the priority (b) 我根据提交习作题材内容以及预期点评效果会不会对别的学生有帮助来选择。I reserve the right to make the final call.

(4) 报名登记使用 Google Classroom，每五周报一次（不然太麻烦了），a non-refundable $50 basic fee is required for each registration. A bidder should submit the write-up and the bidding amount (starting at $30 - $10 = $20; it is just a commitment -- you don't pay it until being confirmed to have won a bid).

(5) 每名学生每次报名最多可以 bid 三次 (i.e., 三篇文章，每篇算单独 bid $20 起). The bidding deadline is two weeks before the first lecture of the five-week schedule, but general registration can be just 48 hours before the first lecture.

(6) 欢迎在朋友圈微信群或任何其它渠道宣传： 每次 registration 之前 (a) 在朋友圈转发三次 (on three different days); or (b) 在两个一百人或以上微信群转发就可以减免一周的 basic fee $10（报名表中需上传截屏文件地址）。
